At the end of January 2011 the first ever published CSR, TRON-DELTA.ORG "Cyber Security Report 2011", will be made publicly available within this section. Until that time we suggest our readers to have a look at some other annual security reports, for e.g. the "BSI-Jahresbericht 2010".
Among other things this article will cover 2011's operating system and application flaws as well as some mitigation strategies, information on cloud computing plus botnets and related technology as a dominating factor; even confirmed by ENISA. Additionally identity fraud as a new playground with its sophisticated structures will be covered and a note on the increased number of mobile devices under attack will be added. Another section of the report will focus on the CCC's statement on cyber security in 2011. Further possible future developments with various aspects will be covered along with an appreciation of future cyber crime activities regarding economic and technical aspects alike. Finally short update on TRON-DELTA.ORG's projects and goals will be given, since there is indeed much our organization can do to make IT more secure by giving people technology and advices at hand. As one example there are tangible plans to turn peoples attention to the BSD operating system in the nearer future. |
